The course will illustrate principles and applications of fluorescence
anisotropy, with emphasis on the fluorescence anisotropy of
biomolecular systems. Steady-state and time-resolved measurements of
fluorescence anisotropy will be described. focussing on the
information that these techniques can provide on molecular properties
(electronic state polarization, excited state interactions) and
processes (rotational diffusion and mobility, ligand binding, protein
association, microviscosity).
