The teaching lessons are focused on organocatalytic systems useful to obtain important functionalizations of common starting organic reagents to optically active intermediates/building blocks and one-pot reactions leading to more complex heterocyclic compounds of biological interest. Organic-, metallic and photocatalytic systems will be illustrated in concert, to show their synergy in asymmetric synthesis. Sustainable features, step-, atom-, pot-economies as well as the mechanistic issues involved in the processes will be highlighted.
