The course will provide an overview of the most recent and advanced efforts made in the field of reaction kinetics, mass transfer and surface reaction mechanisms. An introduction to the concept of diffusion is solid particles will be provided, to help the researcher choosing the best options to conduct experiments in both batch and flow. The rationale to design heterogeneous catalyst to optimize the catalyst reactivity and selectivity will be treated in detail. Recent trends in surface kinetic rate law determination and related theoretical background will be given.
