This course introduces the fundamental principles of photocatalysis and its growing impact on
modern organic synthesis. Students will explore the mechanisms by which light-activated catalysts
enable novel bond-forming reactions and enhance selectivity under mild conditions. Emphasis is
placed on activation modes and synthetic applications in organic synthesis, and by the end of the
course, learners will understand how to design, evaluate, and implement photocatalytic methods in
new transformations.
